The Center Pompidou Málaga - first headquarters of the Center Pompidou, installed in the Cube of Malaga - offers a tour of the art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries with selected works from the incomparable collection of the Center Pompidou, one of the two most important in the modern world and contemporary.
This journey through the history of art that is renewed periodically, is nourished every year, also, from two to three temporary exhibitions plus a multidisciplinary demonstration Hors Pistes along with new proposals semiannually in the Young Public Space-Workshop Exhibition.
It was inaugurated with the semi-permanent exhibition The Collection where all the wealth and changes of the XX-XXI century were reflected throughout five sets of paintings, sculptures, installations, films and videos, entitled: «Metamorphosis», «Self-portraits», « The man without a face ”,“ The political body ”and“ The body in pieces ”.
Experience in the Center Pompidou Málaga is lived through multidisciplinary programs dedicated to dance, representation, word and cinema, with the help of mediation devices aimed primarily at a young audience.
Thus, the Cube that houses the Center Pompidou Málaga becomes a live, participatory installation, in which the workshops, training and dissemination activities generate a strong sense of creative community. This equipment reaffirms, among its missions and priorities, to constitute a platform for exchanges between society and contemporary creation.
